There was a problem connecting to the TransMagic License Server!

Firewall Error when trying to license TransMagic

TransMagic will try to contact for licensing - Make sure that ports 80 and 443 are open to outbound traffic – this should fix the issue.  Starting with Release 11.00.900 or so, this should be in the error message.

Licensing TransMagic Release R12/R11

The new TransMagic licensing system works seamlessly for most customers and prospects, but we do occasionally have users who run into problems. Below are settings to get the new licensing system to work, and at the end of this document we have also included a workaround for those users whose network security systems are too rigid to comply with our new licensing system.

If you get the error “There was a problem connecting to the TransMagic License Server!”, try the following fixes. For firewall settings, which depending on your situation may require that you contact your system administrator.

  1. Make sure you have an Internet connection.
  2. Add as a "trusted url" on your firewall
  3. Allow TransMagic.exe input/output on your firewall
  4. Your firewall may be blocking either port 80 or port 443. TransMagic’s new licensing system requires that both of these ports be open to outbound traffic to contact the licensing server.
